French Cooking: Tarte aux Poireaux – Leek Tart
The French excel at making tarts and pastries!
Here is a delicious recipe for a French Leek tart using mature cheddar cheese. You can of course use Gruyère!
The ingredients required are:
100g shortcrust pastry (if you are making it yourself add 1tspn French mustard)
100g serrano or other good quality ham
200g grated mature cheddar cheese.
28cm tart tin
Strong tip: Make the pastry base as thin as possible.
