Spanish for children
A GREEN MOUSE online Spanish listening resources are free and for use on ipads, tablets, computers, mobile devices and white boards.
The emphasis is always upon listening practice. The aim is to cover lots of different topics using ‘stories’ and interesting images to put language into context and help children to remember the words. Most of the vocabulary for Key Stage 3 and Common Entrance will be included in due course.
The resources are aimed at children from about the age of 7 to 13, depending upon interest, ability, and exposure to Spanish elsewhere. Some offer very good revision for older students, e.g. Food & Drink, others are suitable for children under 7 as well, especially the songs!
Links to the free Spanish listening resources published so far are available below. The easier ones tend to be at the top, but there is quite a variety of material, and some of the ‘stories’ further down the page appeal to quite a range of ages:
¿Eso qué es? ¡Se llama Bugatti!
Maggie and the squirrel
Spaniels at the river – Le gusta/NO le gusta nadar
¡Vamos a la peluquería (hairdresser’s)!
Maggie has grown up
A Green Mouse Spanish songs
How to make a piñata
